Family Mediation Advanced
Family mediation provides mediators with a wide variety of contexts and dilemmas. This course, for experienced mediators, will focus on six core themes and sets of tools to help you to deepen your skill set and work toward becoming a stronger and more productive mediator. Participants will choose one strand to follow throughout.
Three strands:
Divorce and couples’ mediation: working with couples married, unmarried or post- divorce to resolve conflicts.
Juvenile mediation: working with those under the age of 18 in court, family or other contexts to resolve conflicts involving adults. Facilitating family meetings.
Elder/multi-generational mediation: working with contexts involving elders including end of life, estate and long-standing family conflicts.
During each session, participants will work with the whole group and also have break-out sessions to work with those in their chosen strand.
