Eric Turner
Mr. Turner began vacationing on the Vineyard in the late 70’s and moved here full-time after his retirement in 2011.He is an attorney, educator, human rights advocate, good governance and anti-corruption expert. He was Managing Director and Associate General Counsel of the Connecticut Freedom of Information Commission. In that capacity he was responsible for all the commission’s legal and administrative operations. Additionally, he was an agency mediator and hearing officer and represented the commission in administrative and legislative proceedings before state and federal courts. Mr. Turner was also a Lecturer in Law, Adjunct Faculty, at the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he taught a seminar on freedom of expression, access to information and human rights.
He has served and currently serves as an officer and director of many professional, civic, educational, arts and other charitable organizations including the Martha’s Vineyard Social Justice Leadership Foundation.
Mr. Turner has served on the Board of MVMP since 2014.
